totally not what i intended to post today but also whatever, we ball. pinocchiop is my favorite vocap and i'm very autistic about both him and wxs, so, to honor the song campaign clues that we got today, allow me to present to you the reincarnation apple wxs cover line distribution i did some time ago — and why, in my humble opinion, it fits wxs much more than it fits niigo,

(the lyrics where the color changes each word are where the characters both sing at the same time but my notes app doesn't have the option to do a gradient)

i'm in no way expecting it to be an official line distribution because i did it based on my personal interpretation of the lyrics — and i feel like dedicating almost a whole big part of the song to each member might mess up with the game cut, but i also really would like to see them have solos of those parts — but they're here to help me explain my point better my point. so!

what i like about wandasho covers is that they are performers — and it should give them more creative liberty when it comes to their covers. that's why the reincarnation in this song could be simply treated as them getting into roles, reliving countless lives as actors. even though the accuracy of the lines sung is always nicely welcomed, the covers don't have to always be 100% fitting. and that's fine. especially in wxs' case, because that is a yet another story that they want to tell us.

people often say that the storyline fits niigo but i... don't see it at all? i mean, yeah, ena as the artist and kanade as the savior, that much is obvious (and i guess you could also say that mizuki as a revolutionary, but that is kind of a reach?). but what about the part describing the inventor that matches rui's backstory so well? what if you put main story tsukasa in the artist's place and draw the similiarities? what if you think about emu as the savior, comparing the savior's unconditional love to her wanting to save wonder stage and make everyone smile? the only match that doesn't fit quite well is nene and the revolutionary, but you can't have anything i guess. and then the adventurer part, which is a call back to the our happy ending set (i set out in search of an ideal — emu deciding to go with wxs in order to expand her knowledge and horizons) (and then you know, the end has come with the reincarnation apple)... and then lines like i'm not smart enough and i don't have a great cause could resonate with how people viewed emu and rui in the past.

"oh but isn't the start of the song a bit too dark and depressing for it to be a wxs cover?" kami no manimani starts in a similiar way and yet it still is a wxs cover.

and, putting lyrics aside, it just doesn't feel like a niigo song from the instrumental alone. i'm not a music expert so i don't have strong arguments for it, but for me it sounds absolutely like a wxs song. it even reminds me of sekahaji in a way.

does that mean you're in the wrong for wanting niigo to cover it? nope! i just simply want to explain why it fits. and i don't want people to complain that it doesn't make sense for it to end up as a wxs cover. because i will cry.

headlines were all important when you’re in the entertainment industry, especially when you’re in a male-dominated group. mizuki always knew that and she had always managed to appear strong in the times she had to do solo activities. in a country without her members and her fiancé, not understanding or knowing the language spoken, and with fans everywhere, she could barely leave the country with a stable piece of mind.

having to leave her home country for a fashion week was pretty difficult as well, though having her members a few countries away, or hours, was easy enough to handle. mizuki would never admit it but she had some serious attachment issues with her members. she headed to her first place of comfort, her hotel room. the walk to her hotel room wasn’t far from the market place and she had her manager with her at all times, so it wasn’t much of a hassle. with the occasional fan-greeting and stopping by stores, her days were filled with fun. upon arriving at the hotel, she couldn’t help but look around the hotel stores placed inside of it.

“ah mizuki, we should start heading to the hotel room. it’s getting quite late and crowded, so it’s best for us to head back to safety.” her manager pulled her aside from the store, motioning towards the path.

“hm? oh right, we should start heading up. did you manage to get the hotel room key? i think i left it there since we were in a rush; though i should check my bag,” mizuki replied and scanned through her bag, “nope, didn’t pack it. i swear i did.”

the manager took one look at her conflicted state and smiled, “i have it, don’t worry. it’s been a heavy week so i took at chance on obtaining the key today.” the manager took it out of her pockets and used a swiping motion towards the female idol.

the female idol sighed. what would she really do without her manager? “thank you unnie~~ i’ll make sure to repay you with room service~~” mizuki said as she expressed her regards. though soon stopped with the sudden laughter of her manager. mizuki, not wanting to look like drunks, quickly rushed her and her manager into the elevator.

“sorry,” her manager muttered, “i just realized there’s a present for you at your hotel room. it was delivered by room service i believe.”

mizuki stared at the elevator numbers going up, what was the present? could it be something from prada or could it be food that her manager could have ordered before arriving? her thinking was cut short due to a small push. the female idol turned to her manager, who motioned to the open elevator door. the pair made their way towards mizuki’s hotel room in the dim-lighted hallway.

“they could have recorded the stanley hotel here.. it’s so fucking scary.”

“they could’ve if ‘stanley’ wasn’t in the name of the movie.”

room 407. they were here and mizuki placed her key card inside the hatch. the door beeped and the room was dark. she turned to her manager, “did you want to come in or are you not wanting that offer of room service?”

“oh don’t worry, i appreciate the offer but i think you’ll like this room service better.” her manager pointed to the empty room and turned on the lights.

in the room standing still was jeonghan. no sentences or thoughts were said or processed, only the word “jeonghan” came out of mizuki’s lips. like any cliché romantic movie, she ran up into his arms and hugged him tightly, to which he greatly accepted it.

“woah there, didn’t think you missed me that much, huh? bet you couldn’t live without me.” jeonghan told her as he brushed the messy hair from her face. the questions were answered with a slight pout from her face as she pulled away.

“of course i missed you. did you seriously think i wouldn’t miss my favorite person in the world? do you even take me seriously? actually, i think you do because why else would you want to book a flight to it-” mizuki replied to his questions with more questions but was soon cut short.

jeonghan knew if he stayed quiet for another ten seconds it would lead to nothingness and he did the best thing in that situation, a kiss. the kiss was short but it did manage to stop the rambling coming from mizuki. she sighed and muttered, “i really did miss you and i hope you know that.”

“i know, how about i make it up to you? we could order ro-”

the sudden cut-off from mizuki was another kiss. he was stuck in place and began to pout. “so now you decide to kiss me at the wrong time. i was actually thinking of ordering some italian cuisine.”

“ay amore mio, we know that we won’t order room service. let’s drink some vintage wine and have some late night talking.”

“wouldn’t we still have to order room service for the wine?”

“i bought some at some winery. i did some wine tasting and this was the best one.”

“well, i’m fine with any you like, mon amor.”

- A Once-In-A-Lifetime Pandemoniun

in general, i love silly little school trip moments!! Pandemonium was just lovely. Rui and the three friends he made <333 2-B boys you will always be famous to me. the surprised Pikachu face Rui pulled every time they were nice to him and included him in their banter, literally wanted to sob. Airi and Tsukasa having to stop Shizuku and Rui wandering off. Shizuku and Tsukasa childhood memories. and of course- well, look at my icon. not to mention the CARD SET??? absolutely beautiful. adore the yokai theme, Rui and Shizuku's cards nearly offed me. i stared at them for a good five minutes when they were first leaked

- No Seek, No Find

this is one of the few events that made me cry. Saki, you will always be my favourite Tenma <3 her frustration while being stuck in the hospital, her fear of being left behind, the unfairness, her loneliness, her guilt for worrying her family, her desire to be "normal"- it was heartbreaking. the card set hits so hard too, my favourite L/n cards. and Tera Tera is always in my head, Saki's solo >>>>

- My Colour

this event literally made me fall in love with Shizuku, i wasn't particularly interested in her too much before. the pressure put on her but then how she finally let herself act like herself <33 she's so hardworking and sweet, live laugh love, Shizuku Hinomori. the cards are so pretty, Shizuku looks so angelic in hers <3 and her solo of Colour of Drops sounds lovely as always too even if it's not a song i care about too much

- Musical Twilight Parade

LEO/NEED AND WONDERLANDS X SHOWTIME!! MY TWO FAVE UNITS HAD A CROSSOVER <33333 I LOVE THEM. the card set was underwhelming yes (only really like Rin's) but!! W x S as tour guides... the shenanigans... literally has one of my favourite moments of all time of Rui teaching the L/n girlies how to trespass, he's such a good influence, isn't he <33 OH YES AND ICHINENE'S FIRST MEETING!! THEY WERE SO AWKWARD AND SHY AROUND EACH OTHER AND NOW THEY'RE SO QUIETLY HAPPY WHEN THEY BUMP INTO EACH OTHER. THEY MEAN SO MUCH TO ME. also, it's a Shiho event so. winner!!

- Don't Lose Faith

Leo/need. Leo/need Cryptonloids. they're all so sweeeet. i love L/n Rin so much <333 i can't put into words why, but i just really like the event story, them training for their concert in Sekai and all with the support of Miku and Co. the cards were really cool (more lims should have dyed hair...) and so is the song, Voices. another Shiho win!!

- A Sorrowful Farewell at the Curtain Call

it's the only event that's got Asahi Genbu in it. that. that is it. oh yeah and W x S was threatened with divorce or something. BUT ASAHI <3 cards were interesting... i like the symbolism but they don't particularly like. interest me greatly? What Sort of Ending Are You Wishing For isn't one of my fave fave songs either... yeah, it was mainly the story that carried this event for me!!

- Insatiable Pale Colour

ENA. ENA. ENA. INFINITELY GREY MAKES ME CRY. ENA SHINONOME YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT TO ME. HER STRUGGLES HIT SO HARD </333 also,,, Shinonome siblings </3 the cards are prettyyyy. they suit the vibe of the event so well. ONCE AGAIN. INFINITELY GREY. beautiful song, the last chorus makes me so emotional. how Ena sounds like she's screaming in desperation throughout...

- THIS EVENT STORY FELT LIKE A FEVER DREAM. IT WAS SO CHAOTIC AND SILLY AND SO VERY W X S <333 there's so many golden scenes in it. Rui threatening to "sleep the big sleep" if he's made to eat veg. them forming a human pyramid that was nearly ruined by Tsukasa having the audacity to sneeze. Shosuke Otori character development. the only card i really liked was Emu's and Starry Sky Melody isn't one of my favourite songs but the story makes up for it!!

so like, songs already in-game that i would've liked to have been covered/covered by a diff group?

Setsuna Trip is the first to come to mind. I really wanted that to be Ichika/Saki. I still like the Minori/Airi version but I dunno I just think it would've worked better for Leo/need, especially since the instrumentation felt more pronounced on the sekai arrangement.

Back when we were waiting for the final vbs archive I said I thought Toya and An should cover Hibikase, Haikei Doppelganger, or Fraulein=Bibliotheka, and I still agree with those, even if An/Toya don't get in-game covers.

I also think it would've been cool if WxS got to cover Buta ni Natte yeah yeah since it's kinda a followup to potato ni Natte iku? Also I like both those songs a lot so it's a bit self indulgent but I still think it would've been good.

Bad End Night or Vampire's Pathos would've been great as WxS covers too...

While I'm at it I'm gonna complain about the obnoxious amount of full unit covers we got last year. Here's some full unit covers from last year that I think should've been duets:

Shiroi Yuki no Princess wa - Honestly I love this cover but the line distribution is a bit messy and I think it would suit being a duet. Any MMJ duet could work imo and I hope we get duet alts at least. Maybe Shizuku/Minori or Haruka/Airi

Aa, Subarashiki Nyansei - whose fucking idea was it to make a duet into a quintet, and then on top of it not even try to keep the line distribution consistent with the roles. Again, don't really mind what pair and ik this is a ship-bait-y song but i'd rather have a wxs cover with good mixing and line distribution than a cover for a ship i like lmao

Kyu-kurarin - Shizuku/Haruka. It's a bit different from what they normally cover but their solo alts sounded really good.

Shinkai Shoujo - back in like. literally 2021 I said I wanted this as a Shizuku/Haruka duet and I'm never letting that go.

Envy Baby - Mizuki/Ena. This is just because I think their vocals are really good there's no actual reason for it. (I know this is from this year but shhhh the point still stands)

it's one of those movies where you latch onto the nice moments n go into delusion world after finishing n i think thats part of why theres crazy amounts of chichimizu yaoi lmao. even the hetero &/ canon couple fanart tends to be silly-sweet what-ifs

i do want to engage in more of the canon horror tho... but i don't wanna spoil.... maybe i'll pile up art to post en masse eventually. the ghooost solo gegege zine…

pacing is very fast but imo you just kinda go along with the speed while watching it, at least on the first watch? the main charas are rlly great (+cute). the environments n colors n framing are soooooo pretty especially whenever there’s an emphasis on red. there is INCREDIBLE VIOLENCE in this n in addition to the plot its rlly wild that this movie is PG12.... i really appreciated how despite the gore they didn't show or overly explain certain things n i'm double grateful that the scenes closest to "fanservice" were aimed at mizuki like thank gooood. when ur into stuff like death mark seeing other media show restraint is such a relief

I'm Glad You're Evil Too- PinocchioP swings N25 and WxS for me pretty consistently, but this swings N25 specifically. This feels like SUCH a Kanade and Mizuki sort of song to me, honestly.

Childish War - was listening to the Juby/Rachie English cover of this recently, I think the chart would be fun. This is a Tenma Siblings song.

Melancholic- one of my favorite junky songs!!! I think a MMJ cover of this would be delightful. I saw Airi fanart of this the other day and it's been rent free in my brain since.

[It's Not] World's End - This is VERY much an N25 sort of song to me, but it's also got a really nice jaunt to it that I think would make it very fun to play.

The Weekend is Coming- Thought about this recently because i had to find a new video for 16bit Wars for my playlist. It's still really good!!! I still really like it. A pretty equal contender for a MMJ or WxS cover.

Fire Flower- songs that still make me cry in this the year of our lord 2023. An easy WxS cover, I wanna hear a Tsukasa solo version of this.

again - I listened to a remix of this recently and it strikes me as an Ena solo. I would even hazard this as an Ena and Mizuki cover.

Saihate- I feel like this is such an old classic? I'm kind of impressed it's not in the game as far as I know? I'm pretty sure it's in Project Diva. Anyways I'd give it to N25 or MMJ, I'm kinda torn on it tbh.

[Not] a Devil- this came out REAL recently, but I've had it on repeat and I think the chart would be really fun. I think this would make a good An and Kohane duet, tbh. OR: my ideal duet of Mafuyu and Emu.

Lavie- I honestly just want an Akito cover of this tbh, it's not terribly deep. BUT I think it would be stellar as a rhythm game chart.

Reincarnation Apple- another song on the long list of "N25 or WxS?" debates. I equally want to hear a Mafuyu and a Nene cover of this. It would be fun with the full chorus of either group though.

Delusion Sketch- an older bop, I still really like the PV for it. I would give it to MMJ or N25 probably, though it's got a little more poppy than I usually associate with N25.

panda hero- In my ideal world where Kenshi Yonezu would let PrSk cover his older songs, they also get into contact with older cover artists to get permission to use their rap versions. Either way, VBS no questions.

A Song I'd like to Sing- I forgot how much I enjoy this song, I've got a cover of it I'm pretty partial to. This has strong WxS vibes to me, but I could see it as an ensemble PrSk protagonists song.

lifeline- my FAVORITE junky song, bar none. Finding it again to put on a playlist was a TRIAL. Definitely a l/n song, not a hard choice.

Sing My Love- one of my old middle school jams. It's still super cute tbh, I'd give it to MMJ. Give this to Haruka for my health.

Love Hero- probably in my top 5 Gumi songs tbh. The instrumentals say l/n but in my ideal world the video game squad gets the song about event flags even if it's not their usual fair.

Marshall Maximizer- the micchi cover of this keeps coming up on my playlist so it's been on my brain. I would GREATLY enjoy this as a VBS cover, but I could also see it as an N25 song tbh.

Dont Kill The Love Song- I've been on a PinocchioP kick don't @ me. I think this would make a fun l/n song though, or WxS for the vibes.

One of Repetition- I CAN'T decide if this is more of a MMJ song or VBS. I feel like it works well as both. Give this to Minori and Kohane for another crossover duet.

The shape of my heart - this one is a bit of a relic, but I remembered it recently and it still holds up I think. An easy l/n song for me if I had to assign it (I don't, but it's fun). They need a few sadder songs in their repertoire.

Go Go Ghost Ship- Again, In My Ideal World Where We Get Kenshi Yonezu Covers. My first instinct says that I wanna hear WxS go ham on this song.

VBS Archive 6 thu ????

I've been thinking a lot about the future of vbs archive and here are some predictions/ideas I've had:

so so so we're more than likely getting anhane for the next one and im assuming theyre using songs from the first anniversary campaign. i thought itd be cool if both pairs did GUMI covers but i want to be your heart and haikei doppelgänger aren't really vbs's genre so i dont think theyll do those. which sucks bc i really would have liked to hear anhane i want to be your heart... anyway so that leaves meltdown and butterfly on your right shoulder so i think the next one will probably be one of those and honestly im leaning more towards butterfly lol 

from there im purely hoping for things. I think vbs needs to cover some 25ji songs bc id love the idea of akito being annoyed about having to ask ena to show him some of their songs. I think since when they did the leo/need songs they only did covers, that they'd continue to stay away from the commissioned songs. I also think this would be a good time to do akihane and antoya 

so i have a desperate need to hear akito and kohane cover MKDR. I can already imagine akito belting out those lines and holy fuck i think itd be so good. for an and toya i wanted to give them a mafuyu/mizuki song bc akito and kohane got kanade and ena but i dont think they'd pull off otome dissection very well especially since i dont think the 25ji cover's good in the first place. Usseewa is way to heavy for them and while i think they could pull off bocca della, i fear that its also too heavy for vbs. this leaves villain which I think would sound pretty good so I'm gonna give them that. (totemo itai itagaritai was also an option that I think would sound cool hhhh)

SO after 25ji i think itd be really cool if they went back and did some of their own covers but swapped the singers. anhane doing akitoya songs and vice versa. Unfortunately there arent a lot of anhane songs to pick from. Odo's the only duet they have and there there are only a handful of them with the virtual singers.

i think the obvious choice would be to give anhane fragile. (anhane kamawanaide 👀👀👀) um and in keeping with the time area, maybe akitoya could do bring it on bc i think that would slay. ive also considered the option of them swapping ifuudouou and paIII. sensation hehehe

okay okay and the next part will NEVER happen BUT i think it'd be cool if they did solos and this is where id like to bring in mmj and wxs! i think that since kohane and an are friends with minori and haruka, they'd each cover a mmj song. id really like to see an do nostalogic. as for kohane,,,,, i really want to say she'd do one of minori's songs like love trial or marshmary but i also think she'd rock the shit out of romeo and cinderella

as for the boys: they get the wxs songs. I think toya would go for a song that tsukasa did! my top two options are fixer (the comfort song uwu) or nonsense bungaku. as for akito, he doesn't really have ties with anyone in wxs so he's got free reign. I think he could also do nonsense if toya doesn't but other big options are king, dappou rock, and chururira. hhhh actually i think dappou rock would be perfect for akito

Thinking thoughts about Ryuki and what I would want for AI3…

I think if we do get AI3 I hope we get a new protagonist that doesn’t have to share the spotlight with anyone because as much as I love Ryuki (he makes me feel like I’m going to die) I feel like his writing suffered at times because of the fact he’s a dual protagonist. So much of his origins still feel so mysterious. I enjoy having older characters in the game but I think having them as fun side characters for returning players to enjoy could be more effective than trying to use them as main characters again.

I enjoyed Ai:Ni but there were definitely times I wished either Mizuki got to be the solo protagonist of the game OR the game was Ryuki’s game and Mizuki acted as a really important supporting character.

New Darling by MARETU, covered by Tsukasa & Rui, with an alt by KAITO. i know that this absolutely does not fit the aesthetic of WxS but i think that Rui would slay this song
